Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster is one of America’s most demanding championship courses, a place where power golf meets relentless precision. Originally crafted in the 1960s and later reimagined with modern bite, the layout has hosted decades of elite competition, earning a reputation as both iconic and unforgiving.
From the opening tee shot, the Blue Monster makes its intentions clear. Broad fairways appear inviting, but water lurks everywhere, angling into sightlines and squeezing landing zones at exactly the wrong moments. Towering palms frame long corridors of turf, while deep, flashed bunkers guard the ideal angles with quiet menace. Several moments define the course’s brutality, but none more than the famed 18th, a brutally long par-4 skirting a lake for its entire length. It demands two of the purest swings a golfer has, with no margin for retreat.
For players seeking a world-class challenge wrapped in classic Florida drama, the Blue Monster remains exactly what its name promises: bold, daunting, and brilliantly uncompromising.
